Thibodaux, Louisiana.- John Crow, hijo de Bobby Crow, fundador de la Iglesia Palabra de Vida en esta capital, fue detenido el viernes en el aeropuerto municipal de Thibodaux, Louisiana, por llevar en la aeronave que piloteaba 15.6 kilogramos de cocaína valuada en 468 mil dólares, unos 8 millones 49 mil 600 pesos al tipo de cambio de hoy.
Según la cadena informativa 6WDSU NEWS, citando como fuente a la policía estatal de Louisiana, el ahora detenido despegó del aeropuerto de Brownsville, Texas y aterrizó el viernes en Thibodaux, Lousiana, en tanto personal militar adscrito al Departamento de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos de Norteamérica lo sometieron a revisión.
Al cuestionar al piloto, relató el reportero Clint Durret, éste se comportó “extremadamente nervioso durante el encuentro y le otorgó el consentimiento para buscar el avión”.
“Al interior del equipaje de Crow, soldados y agentes descubrieron 15.6 kilogramos de cocaína, con un valor estimado en las calles de $468,000 (dólares)”, dijo la policía estatal en un comunicado.
“Tropas y agentes también encontraron 2,090 dólares en efectivo en poder de Crow”.
Según la cadena informativa 6WDSU NEWS Crow fue arrestado y fichado en el Complejo Terrebonne Parish de Justicia Penal.
La acusación que pese en contra suya es por cargos de posesión con intención de distribuir cocaína y transacciones que implican ganancias de la droga.
Detectives de la policía del Estado incautaron el dinero en efectivo y el avión.
De acuerdo con registros de la cárcel, a Crow le fue fijada una fianza de 5 millones de dólares.
Trascendió que el avión en que se transportó la droga es propiedad de la Iglesia Palabra de Vida.

The elder Crow is a well-known and respected pastor in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas who has been credited with helping spread the development of Christian churches in the area.
The arrest took place on September 18, when authorities caught up with a small airplane that had arrived at the Thibodaux Municipal Airport, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the Louisiana State Police revealed.
The plane’s pilot John Crow had flown from the border city of Brownsville to Louisiana where authorities asked for consent to search the airplane.
“Crow was extremely nervous during the encounter and granted consent to search the airplane,” the information provided by Louisiana authorities revealed.
Inside Crow’s luggage authorities found 15.6 kilograms of cocaine which authorities valued at $468,000 as well as $2,090 in cash.
Since news of his son’s arrest reached Tamaulipas, Crow has been the target of criticism from community members in the state capital of Ciudad Victoria. The pastor has also received support from other pastors who have spoken out in TV interviews stating that Crow’s son is an adult responsible for his own actions.
The border city of Brownsville is just north of the border from Matamoros, Tamaulipas which is a major hub for the Mexican Gulf Cartel.
Despite its relatively small size, Brownsville has long been considered a main drug trafficking corridor with tons of narcotics moving through the city on their way to northern cities in Texas and from there to the rest of the country.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — As American pastor who moved to Mexico to build churches in the violence-filled state of Tamaulipas has become the topic of much controversy after Louisiana State Troopers arrested his son with an airplane filled with cocaine. The 29-year-old John Crow, who lives in this border city, is charged with drug possession as well as having drug proceeds.
